Besides being a research field station, the PALASE could be a great place and means of implementing the principles of environmental education (in the broadest sense). The location of the station in a natural environment consisting of many different habitats, as long as the rich historical and cultural tradition of the region can be the thematic background for the preparation and implementation of environmental programs. Applying education strategies for sustainable development, the PALASE, could become a multifaceted action carrier by the designing development and implementation of training local thematic content programs, organizing excursions and tours, seminars and workshops, events not only for students and teachers, but also for the general public and the local community in the context of lifelong learning.
